Light Jets Europe
Just over 100 industry participants attended the third annual Very Light Jets - Europe conference, 24/25 September at Oxford Airport http://www.miuevents.com/archive/vlj-e09). This was the first time the event had been staged at an airport, allowing us the oppportunity to showcase the Embraer Phenom 100. Having waiting patiently all day, Thursday, for the assigned aircraft to appear, delegates were slightly overwhelmed when two showed up, almost together, on Friday morning. The event heard from a variety of industry experts including Eurocontrol, legal specialists, taxation, funding, VAT, industry associations, brokers, manufacturers, supply and service providers, aircraft reliability and efficiency specialists, consultants, pilots and an assortment of industry commentators. However, the highlight was the presentation from six leading operators on the afternoon of Day 1, who provided varying insights into how the air taxi/charter market was positioned and what was expected over the next 12 months. Not all the operators agreed on a typical Mustang turnround time at an aiport and to view some of the fun during the proceedings the event video is available on download through the archive.
During the final session, and following much debate about the term Very Light Jets, the audience voted for the event to be re-branded for next year as Light Jets -Europe 2010 and this will be the name for the 2010 event.
Our thanks go to hosts London Oxford Airport, static display sponsors - Hangar 8, badge sponsors -Gates and Partners, coffee break sponsors - AQMS and our other sponsors - Oxford Aviation Academy, Air Support, CFM, Embraer Executive Jets, ATXA-Europe and CJ Cars.
