Business travel with scheduled carriers inefficient

29 September 2008

According to recent research travelling with scheduled air carriers is poor time management for the business traveller.

Only a maximum of a third of the time spent travelling actually involves flying and the rest of the time is spent waiting in lounges and travelling to and from the hub airport. If there are delays, which frequently happens at airports such as Heathrow, then the time spent flying reduces still further with consequences for connections and meetings away from the destination airport.

The way forward for the business traveller is the point to point, on demand air taxi model according to the findings revealed at this year's VLJ-Europe conference, staged last week in Barcelona, Spain.
