BA, Iberia and AA seal alliance agreement

14 August 2008

British Airways, Iberia and American Airlines announced today their agreement to form a joint business, which if approved, will cover flights between the US, Mexico, Canada, the EU, Switzerland and Norway.
This alliance between American Airlines and BA which is merging with Iberia, will allow the carriers to operate under their separate brands and decide on fares, routes and schedules together.
The three airlines that are creating the biggest alliance in the world, have jointly applied for international anti-trust immunity from the US Department of Transportation and the European Commission will also review the agreement.
