Increased passenger traffic at Dubai Airport in 1Q08

During the first quarter of 2008, passenger traffic at Dubai International Airport increased by 15%.  Nine million people travelled through the airport.  One million more than the same quarter of 2007 passed through this airport.  In March 3.25 million people travelled and aircraft movements reached 68,869 aircraft, 8.5% more than a year ago.  124 airlines are currently serving Dubai. 

Passenger traffic in Dubai is expected to reach 40 million by the end of the year and 60 million by 2010.  The aviation projects taking place in Dubai are worth $21 billion and the new Al Maktoum International Airport in Jebel Ali will be the largest international airport in the world.
