UK Government targets business jets
6 May 2008
The struggling Brown Government has given notice that it is set to levy yet another "green" tax, this time on buisness jets.
The tax is part of a policy to switch aviation taxation from passengers to aircraft and will result in a penalty of around £1000 for a transatlantic business flight.
The move comes as little surprise to the battered aviation community in the UK who are aware that this is a populist ploy and helps to raise £2.5 billion for the exchequer.
