664 new bizjets delivered in 2011

There were a total of 664 new business jet deliveries in 2011, according to data from Ascend. The most delivered types were the G550 (50), CJ4 (48), and Challenger 605 (42). North America took 51% of deliveries; Europe followed with 19%. This total is still down on 2010’s 762 deliveries, and further down on 2009 (878), 2008 (1,290), and 2007 (1,114).

The 2011 used sales total topped out at 3,245, with the Hawker 800XP (130 sales) leading followed by the Citation II (87) and CJ3 (85). North America once again witnessed the most sales activity (77%) followed by Europe with 10%. Encouragingly for the sector, this figure is up on 2010 (3,119 sales), 2009 (2,787), and on par with 2008 (3,261) and 2007 (3,902).
