Abu Dhabi airport to open new terminal

Abu Dhabi International Airport will open its third terminal this summer and it is expected to boost the airport's passenger capacity by 70%.  This terminal will be used exclusively by Etihad.

The cost of this expansion is $6.8 billion and the annual handling passenger capacity at the airport is expected to increase to 20 million.  In February 2008, the airport's passenger traffic increased by 32.7% and its aircraft movements grew by 16.9%.  Cargo volumes increased by 20.1%.
