Skybus shutdown

14 April 2008

Skybus, a US low cost airline, flew its final flight on April 4.  The carrier blames the rising jet fuel costs and a slowing economic environment.  These two issues proved to be "insurmountable for a new carrier".

It was operating 12 leased A319s and it cancelled an order for another 65 A319s from Airbus.
