Emerging markets lead the way at Farnborough

The mature markets of Europe and the US are not the ones that have been leading aircraft purchases this week at the Farnborough air show in the UK. American Airlines ordered 35 new 737s but the bulk of activity has come from the Middle East and Asia. Activity is better than expected considering the state of the spluttering global recovery but US carriers are showing mixed results and there are continuing concerns over fuel prices
