Airlines to lose $5.6 billion in 2010

The global airline industry lost $11 billion in 2009, according to the International Air Transport Association, and is set to lose a further $5.6 Billion in 2010. Rising fuel costs and cut throat fare wars are dragging carriers into a spiral dive, despite improving passenger numbers. The aviation industry as a sector lost $49 Billion for the decade.
