Private aviation turning to smaller jets

19 August 2009

Signs that the credit crunch is beginning to affect even the wealthiest folk, Middle Eastern royalty included, is being noticed by charter operators. The trend is to reduce the overall budget for a return trip from Europe to the Middle East with the long haul leg flown by commercial carrier, albeit in First Class, and then picking up a smaller private charter for the regional leg. According to International Air Charter (IAC) "People are using jet travel in a smarter way these days..... with fewer long haul journeys being made by private jet". Good news for the air taxi and light jet sector!
