JetBird secures funding

JetBird announced on Monday it had secured Euros 21 million of new funding. The placement was underwritten by Claret Capital, the private equity vehicle belonging to Domhnal Slattery.

A number of "prominent Irish names" are amongst the backers and the new head of finance, Carsten Dettmar, was also announced, he joins from low-cost carrier Air Berlin.

JetBird has 25 Embraer Phenom 100s on order and is set to start operations in April 2009.
