MIU Events - Company History

MIU Events was founded in April 2000.

Starting as a general transport events management company and consultancy, covering regional transport infrastructure, maritime and aviation, we sold off the maritime and general transport divisions and now concentrate purely on aviation.

The reason for this, put simply, is that we are nuts about flying. Our view is that bouncing across the top of clouds beats bouncing about in a boat!

The company stages conferences, exhibitions and air shows for the business and commercial aviation sectors. We have offices in Dubai, Miami and London.

There are several experienced pilots on the staff and the team at MIU has staged over 170 conferences and shows worldwide.

The main difference between MIU and regular conference and events businesses is that we are closely involved with the actual process of flying. The pilots on the team keep everyone up to speed with the latest developments and thinking in the industry and we also represent the Air Taxi Association in Europe (ATXA-E) and have close links with the Air Taxi Association HQ in Atlanta, Georgia.

We aim to price our events realistically and ensure that delegates, attendees, sponsors, exhibitors and show participants go away with a better understanding of the issues of the day. All proceedings are available through download from our website and each of our events encompasses a mix of views, experiences and the dissemination of market intelligence and information on the aviation industry.

2007 saw the introduction of a series of new events dedicated to the Very Light Jet (VLJ). These events were staged in Dubai, Vienna and Rio de Janeiro and proved popular with the industry. These events will repeat in 2008 and will be complemented by additional events for the air taxi industry (IATC) and those seeking to finance their aircraft (FAME-ABC) and a variety of events to be staged in Dubai which will celebrate innovation in aviation, the growth of general aviation in the Middle East and specialist topics such as pilot training, aviation infrastructure, business airline operations and aviation trade missions.
