Financial Solutions for Business Aviation
29 June-
30 June 2011- Shannon Airport, Ireland
Shannon Airport and Shannon Development in association with MIU Events presents
Financial Solutions for Business Aviation (FiSBA)
It has been a tough couple of years for the business aviation industry and the effects of the banking crisis have had a disproportionate impact on many operators, business airports, FBOs and related supply and service industries.
This two day event is aimed at providing an insight into some of the issues and frustrations experienced by those in Business and Private aviation when it comes to funding and effectively managing their aircraft, airport or related business. The format is different to conventional conferences as there will be fewer conventional presentations and a greater emphasis on longer sessions where panelists will contribute from the platform and help stimulate debate.
Fuel prices, illegal charters, structuring and arranging finance, lack of harmonisation across Europe, registration, tax planning, Corporation tax, new VAT rules, country access, emerging markets, business aircraft deliveries and pre inspection, use of FTZs, confusing regulatory rules, the role of business aviation and it's impact on airports and the wider community will all be covered.
FiSBA will provide industry p
rofessionals with an insight into securing finance in the current economic climate, both from traditional lenders and alternative sources. The event will be educational and instructive, rather than a formal conference with set slots for speakers - the emphasis will be on understanding how financial instruments can be tailored to the needs of business aviation and the entrepreneurs that work within the industry. We'll also look at the whole process of how business airports and FBOs can simplify and enhance the business process and the prosperity of the communities they serve.
The event is aimed at business aviation professionals - private air charter operators and owners, business airport owners and operators, Industry associations, FBOs, OEMs, MROs, catering groups, pilot groups, Central, federal and regional government and planning authorities, Banks and funding institutions, Lawyers and accountants, regulatory authorities, entrepreneurs and High net worth individuals, VIP handlers, aircraft brokers, equipment specialists and those with an interest and understanding of how aviation drives the economy of any nation.
Networking will be an important part of the event and there will be a tour of Shannon airport followed by a traditional Irish night at the end of Day 1 and a BBQ and informal evening at the end of Day 2. On Friday 1 July (day 3) there wi
ll be a golf tournament at Dromoland Castle, a truly breathtaking venue, and for the non golfers there is an opportunity to tour some of the historical sites and stunning Co Clare countryside.
About Shannon Airport In August 2009, Shannon Airport became the first European airport to introduce full US pre-clearance for airline passengers. This allows airlines who use Shannon to go directly to US domestic terminals or use approved US domestic airports. Passengers undergo all the necessary TSA security requirements and CBP clearances at Shannon which allows them to be treated as domestic passengers on entry to the US. This offers significant cost savings and new routing opportunities for airlines. One of the first airlines to use this new facility is British Airways who are using the facility to pre-clear their US bound passengers from London City Airport.
