INTERNATIONAL TRAFFIC DECLINED IN SEPTEMBER
According to IATA, international passenger traffic declined 2.9% in September 2008 compared to the same period a year ago.  Cargo traffic declined 7.7% and it is the worst result since 2001.
NEW FORECAST FOR REGIONAL AIRCRAFT
Forecast International published a report according to which, 4,066 regional aircraft worth US$116 billion will be delivered between 2008 and 2017.  The top manufacturers will be Embraer with a forecast to build 1,440 jets, Bombardier which is expected to build 1,189 aircraft and ATR with 458 turboprops.
POSITIVE FORECAST FOR THE MIDDLE EAST BY BOEING
Boeing increased its forecast for the growth of the airline sector in the Middle East by 40% over the next 20 years.  The regional market is valued at US$260 billion in the next 20 years which means that there will be a demand for 1,580 commercial aircraft and a market for aircraft financing. 
PRIVATAIR – KLM AGREEMENT RENEWED
PrivatAir and KLM have renewed their contract.  PrivatAir will continue to provide the Dutch airline with business class only flights between Amsterdam Schiphol and Huston George Bush International airports. 
MORE AIRBUS FOR CROATIA AIRLINES
Croatia Airlines ordered four A319s aircraft.  The national carrier’s fleet currently includes eight A320s.
MORE BOEING FOR RYANAIR
Ryanair has ordered 10 more B737s.  Boeing has received in total orders for 480 B737s this year.
SAHAAB AIRCRAFT LEASING IS LAUNCHED
Jazeera Airways, NBK Capital and DVB Bank have established Sahaab Aircraft Leasing based in Kuwait.  The new company will be capitalised at US$375 million and it will provide narrow and wide bodied commercial jets to airlines in the Middle East. 
BAHRAIN AIR TO INCREASE FLEET INVESTMENT
Bahrain Air plans to increase its capital spend to US$53 million in order to finance the purchase of six A320s and expand its network.
GOAIR – AIR FRANCE CONTRACT
GoAir of India has agreed with Air France for the maintenance of its 20 aircraft (by 2012) for six years.  The contract is worth US$40 million. 
FINANCING FOR US AIRWAYS
US Airways has secured US$950 million including US$35 million in loans from Republic Airways.
DECREASED PROFITS FOR AEROFLOT
Aeroflot announced that it has suffered a 55.2% drop in net profit due to the increased fuel prices.  Operating expenses grew by 42.1% in the first six months of 2008 compared to the same period last year. 
US AIRWAYS NET LOSS
US Airways Group reported a net loss of US$865 on US$3.26 billion revenues in the third quarter of 2008.
ALASKA AIR NET LOSS
Alaska Air Group announced that it had a net loss of US$86.5 million on US$1.07 billion revenue in the third quarter of 2008.
JETBLUE NET LOSS
Jetblue Airways suffered a net loss of US$4 million on US$902 million revenues in the third quarter of 2008.
NEW AIRCRAFT FOR JORDAN AVIATION
Jordan Aviation Group signed a contract for 10 Boeing aircraft worth US$120 million. 
BELL HELICOPTER IN INDIA
India has become a strong market for Bell Helicopter and it expects to sell 100 helicopters in less than 5 years.  The US-based company currently enjoys 52% of the Indian market share. 
NEW AIRPORT TO BE BUILT IN INDIA
Bids are being evaluated by the local government for the construction of an international airport at Kushinagar in India.  The new airport will connect Kushinagar mainly with Japan, Myammar, Korea, China, Thailand, Bhutan and Sri Lanka.
NEW RUNWAY IN ABU DHABI
The second runway at Abu Dhabi International Airport is now operational for arrivals and departures.  The 4,100m runway cost Dhs1 billion.
ECLIPSE AVIATION OFFERS DAYJET AIRCRAFT
Eclipse Aviation announced that it will act as an executive broker for the sale of 28 VLJs that were flown by DayJet, which shut down on 19th September.  The sale of the Eclipse 500s will help Eclipse raise US$200-250 million in new capital.  All the aircraft have between 150 and 450 cycles on them. 
GROWTH FOR IMAGINEAIR
ImagineAir has reported a significant growth in flight demand and revenue.  Since the first quarter of this year, flight demand increased 23% and revenue 64%.
