IRAN-IRAQ COOPERATION
Iran and Iraq have agreed to enable direct flights between Baghdad and Tehran.  Seven passenger and seven cargo flights per week will connect the two capitals.

REDUCED PROFIT GROWTH FOR EMIRATES
Emirates announced that during the first six months of its financial year, its net profit has been reduced by 88% because of high oil prices. 

AIRBUS AND GRUPO MARSANS SIGN MOU
Grupo Marsans, a Spanish tourism and transport group, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Airbus covering 4 A380s, 10 A350-900s, five A330-200s, 25 A320s and 12 A319s.

PALM AVIATION AND JORAMCO SIGN MOU
Palm Aviation which is based in Dubai, UAE and Jordan Aircraft Maintenance Limited (JorAMco) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) according to which Palm Aviation will offer flight support, ground support and refuelling services to customers of JorMAco at Queen Alia International Airport in Amman. 

AIR WISCONSIN LOAN TO US AIRWAYS
Air Wisconsin has confirmed a loan of $35 million to US Airways participating in a $950 million liquidity package.  Republic Airways has already offered another $35 million while Airbus and Seabury are involved with $200 million each.

SAS EARNINGS MARGINALLY POSITIVE
SAS Group has announced that its earnings for the third quarter of the year were marginally positive amounting to MSEK 101 before nonrecurring items.  The Group carried 9.8 million passengers, which indicates a decrease of 5.4%.  The high oil prices are the main reason for this result. 

AIR CARGO TRAFFIC FORECAST
According to Boeing’s forecast, global air cargo traffic will grow at a 5.8% annual rate over the next 20 years.  The Asian market will have the highest growth rate.

AIR TAXI SERVICE IN INDIA
The first air taxi service in India will be introduced by Deccan Aviation.  The Bangalore-based company which operates helicopters and fixed wing charter flights will launch Sky Limo that will operate two helicopters from Nariman Point to Mumbai’s airport.

CESSNA CUTS CITATION DELIVERIES
Cessna Aircraft has decided to cut back on the plan for increased deliveries of the Citation aircraft.  475 aircraft are expected to be delivered by the end of the year and Cessna had planned to increase production to 535 aircraft in 2009.  Now Cessna expects to deliver slightly more than in 2008.
